Ednam Foundation - Uganda
Ednam Foundation is a registered local NGO Reg No (3099) operating in rural communities.
We have six thematic areas of intervention, which include:
In Ednam Foundation, we believe that it is a right for every child to attain education.
Although there are a number of children who have shown interest in education, the poverty
levels in the communities cannot help them to attain it. With so, the foundation has been able to
provide educational sponsorship to some of the children in the communities. We plan to increase
their numbers as we get more funds.

We provide health, nutrition, and social care guidance to children, families, and the community, empowering them for healthy living.

Ednam Foundation improves Sanitation and Hygiene through providing safe water for rural communities,
sensitizing on good sanitation practices like hand washing, menstrual hygiene management among
the young girls. We donate hand washing facilities, train in making sanitary pads. With the support
of well-wishers, we construct sanitation facilities like boreholes,wells and latrines
Climate change is a global aspect that is only understood by some people especially those living
in urban areas. Since the people in rural areas are in most cases ignored, this activity aims at
creating climate change awareness and advocating for positive measures towards protecting the
environment. This is through some of our programs such as promoting planting of more trees and
reforestation involving everyone in the community especially the teenagers. Ednam Foundation
has organized a group of community members called “Green Team” to advocate for Climate Change
and environment for better eco – system
We started vocational training aimed at raising the status of children, youth, women and community
members such as;carpentry, hair dressing and plaiting, Tailoring and knitting, Craft making
(craft shoes, beads etc), Soap making, Sanitary pads making, Candle making, Talent development,
Fabrication, Juice/ beverages making, Fashion and design, Events management), capacity building,
providing psychosocial support, setting up SACCOs and income generating projects.
